Around Oxenford

Getting around Oxenford with a support worker

Oxenford sits between the Coomera River and the M1, with Helensvale on the other side of the motorway. Everyday shopping is at Oxenford Village on Cottonwood Place, which has a Woolworths.

Weka Parklands on Binstead Way has accessible toilets, picnic shelters and a fenced off-leash dog area. Warner Bros. Movie World and Wet’n’Wild are in Oxenford too, as is Paradise Country on Production Drive.

There’s no train station in the suburb. Buses 716, 717 and 723 run to Helensvale station, where the train line and the G:link light rail meet. The TX7 links Coomera and Helensvale stations via the theme parks.

After sustaining a horse riding accident, I was left feeling hopeless. The team have been there every step of the way, helping me adjust to my new reality with care and support. After months of physiotherapy, I’ve finally been able to regain a sense of purpose and confidence in my life again. I’m incredibly grateful for everything they’ve done for me.

FAQs

Questions about choosing an NDIS provider in Oxenford

Do you have support workers in Oxenford?

Yes. Oxenford is one of the suburbs we support, and our Helensvale base is about 8 minutes away by car. Your support worker comes to you, so there’s no office to visit.

If you’d rather a man or a woman, or someone who shares your language or culture, tell us when you call.

Take bus 716, 717 or 723, which all run to Helensvale station. From there you can catch a train or the G:link light rail.

A support worker can ride with you while you learn the trip. On days the bus won’t do, ask us about lifts instead.

Yes, if outings like this are part of your plan goals. NDIS funding usually covers your support worker’s time, not tickets or entry fees, which you pay as anyone would. Each park sets its own prices and access arrangements, so check with them before you go.

Oxenford doesn’t have its own library. The closest is Upper Coomera Library, on the corner of Reserve and Abraham Roads, opposite Coles. It has free accessible parking, with entry off Abraham Road, and the same centre has an aquatic centre and a café.
