What we help with

What is transport assistance?

It’s support to get from A to B when getting there on your own is difficult, funded in your NDIS plan under your transport and travel supports. A support worker drives you, or travels alongside you, so you can keep your appointments, get to work or study, and stay part of community life.

Appointments and services

Reliable travel to medical, allied health and other important appointments, safely and on time.

Work and study

Out and about

Support to get to social, recreational and community activities, and stay connected to the things you enjoy.

Everyday errands

A hand to get to the shops, services and regular places that are part of your week.

Support That Gets You Where You Need to Be

Getting somewhere should not be the hardest part of your day. Whether it is a regular trip to work or study, an appointment you cannot miss, or getting out to something you enjoy, we help you get there safely, on time and with someone you are comfortable with.

Care you can trust

A safe, reliable trip with someone you know

Getting somewhere is easier when you trust the person behind the wheel. So we put real care into who we match you with, someone reliable, safe and easy to travel with, who turns up when they say they will.

Screened, checked and trained

Before anyone drives you or travels with you, they hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and have completed our training. Your safety on every trip comes first.

Matched to you

We take time to pair you with someone you feel comfortable travelling with. And if you would rather a man or a woman, or someone who shares your language, faith or culture, just say the word.

A familiar face behind the wheel

Travelling is easier with someone you know, so we do our best to keep the same workers with you, rather than a different driver each time. They will know your routine, where you are headed and how you like things.

And if the match is ever not right, just tell us. We will listen, and find someone who suits you better.

Here to help

Not sure what your plan covers? Let's have a chat.

Transport funding can be confusing, and you do not need to have it all worked out. If you just want to understand how it works, or whether we can help, we are glad to talk it through. No pressure, and no obligation.

Funding

Is transport covered by the NDIS?

In most cases, yes, though it works in a couple of ways. When one of our support workers drives you or travels with you to where you need to go, that is usually funded through your Core budget, with the support and the travel arranged in your service agreement. Some people also have a separate transport amount in their plan for their own travel costs, like taxis, which is theirs to manage. Whether transport is funded, and how, depends on your needs and what is reasonable and necessary for you.

What we provide is the support of getting you there, a friendly worker to drive you or travel alongside you. We deliver the support and your plan decides what it covers, and if you are not sure what is in your plan, we are happy to talk it through and point you in the right direction.

What we believe

We believe getting there should be the easy part

Life does not pause because a lift fell through. Appointments, work, catch-ups, the things that keep your week turning, they all depend on being able to get there. We are here to make that part simple and dependable, so you can focus on where you are going, not how you will get there.

Dependable when it counts

We know a missed trip can throw out your whole day. So we take being on time seriously, and we do our best to be the lift you can count on.

FAQs

Transport assistance, answered

Is transport covered by the NDIS?

In most cases, yes. When one of our support workers drives you or travels with you, that is usually funded through your Core budget, with the support and travel set out in your service agreement. Some people also have a separate transport amount in their plan for their own travel costs, like taxis, which is theirs to manage. Whether transport is funded depends on your needs and what is reasonable and necessary, and we are happy to help you understand what is in your plan.

They often go together. If a support worker is helping you take part in an activity, getting you there is usually part of that community participation support. Transport is for when the trip itself is the main thing you need, like a regular run to appointments, work or study. We can help you work out which fits, and you can have both.

That is a slightly different kind of support. Transport is about getting you there, while learning to travel independently, like building confidence with public transport, is part of our life skills support. If that is your goal, we are happy to talk about it.

We do our best to keep the same workers with you, because travelling is easier with a familiar face who knows your routine and where you are headed. On the rare day your regular driver cannot make it, whoever steps in will know your trip and how you like things.

In most cases, yes. We can take you there, bring you home, and where it is part of your support, wait with you or nearby. Just let us know what you need when we plan your trips, and we will sort it out.

Not always. Transport for you can be funded in a few ways, sometimes through a transport amount in your plan, and sometimes as part of another support when a worker takes you somewhere. If you are not sure what your plan allows, we can help you make sense of it before you commit to anything.

Your safety on every trip is our priority. Everyone who drives you or travels with you is screened with a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and trained before they start. If anything ever feels not right, tell us, and we will sort it out.
