What we help with

What is home and living support?

It’s support shaped around where and how you live, whether you share a home with others or live in specialist accommodation. Rather than one-off help with a single task, it’s about feeling settled, safe and supported in your own home, with the right level of help day to day.

Living with others

Support to share a home and share support, with help to manage your own routines and get along day to day.

Specialist accommodation

Support connected to Specialist Disability Accommodation, where SDA is part of your approved NDIS plan.

Feeling at home

Help to feel safe, settled and comfortable where you live, in a way that respects your space and your way of doing things.

The right level of support

Support matched to what you need at home, from a hand with the everyday to more support as your situation calls for it.

Support That Helps Where You Live Feel Like Home

Where you live is a big part of life. For some, that means sharing a home with others and sharing support. For some, it means living in specialist accommodation suited to higher support needs. We work with you and your family to make day-to-day life at home feel safe, settled and shaped around you.

Care you can trust

Your home, your choices, the right people around you

Where you live is personal, and so is who supports you there. We put real care into who we bring into your home, people you feel safe and comfortable with, who respect that it is your space and your life.

Screened, checked and trained

Before anyone supports you at home, they hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and have completed our training. In your own home, your safety and comfort matter most.

Matched to you

We take time to pair you with people who suit you and respect how you live. And if you would rather a man or a woman, or someone who shares your language, faith or culture, just say the word.

Familiar faces at home

In your own home, a familiar face matters even more, so we do our best to keep the same workers with you. They will know your routines, your space and how you like things, rather than it feeling like a stranger in your home each time.

And if the fit is ever not right, just tell us. We will listen, and find someone who suits you and your home better.

Home and living support can feel like a lot to weigh up, especially with options like shared living and specialist accommodation. If you just want to understand how it works, we are glad to help. No pressure, and no obligation.

Funding

Is home and living support covered by the NDIS?

In most cases, yes, though it can work in a few different ways. Support with daily life in a shared or supported home is usually funded through your Core budget, under Home and Living, based on the support you need. Specialist Disability Accommodation is funded separately, and only for people who meet the criteria for it. Whether something is funded, and how much, depends on your needs and what is reasonable and necessary for you.

One thing worth knowing: this support covers the help you receive, not the cost of living itself, so things like rent, board and groceries are usually yours to cover. We deliver the support and your plan decides what it covers, and if you are not sure what is in your plan, we are happy to talk it through and point you in the right direction.

What we believe

We believe everyone deserves to feel at home

Home should feel safe, comfortable and like your own, whoever you are and however much support you need. We are here to make day-to-day life at home work for you, fitting around your routines and your choices, so where you live feels less like a placement and more like home.

It is your home, first

We never forget that we are guests in your space. Your routines, your choices and your privacy come first, and our job is to support you, your way.

FAQs

Home and living support, answered

Is home and living support covered by the NDIS?

In most cases, yes. Support with daily life in a shared or supported home is usually funded through your Core budget, under Home and Living, based on the support you need. Specialist Disability Accommodation is funded separately and only for people who meet the criteria. Whether something is funded depends on your needs and what is reasonable and necessary, and we are happy to help you understand what is in your plan.

They overlap, but the focus is different. Daily living support is help with everyday tasks, like personal care and household jobs, wherever you live. Home and living support is about your living arrangement itself, like sharing a home with others or living in specialist accommodation, and the support that comes with it. Many people have both, and we can explain how they fit together.

They are related, but not the same. Shared living describes the arrangement, sharing a home with others. SIL is a specific type of funding for people who need a high level of support at home, often around the clock. What we provide is shared living support, day-to-day help in a shared home. If you have higher support needs, or SIL is in your plan, talk to us and we will be honest about whether we are the right fit.

Specialist Disability Accommodation is specially designed housing for people with very high or complex support needs, and it is funded separately through the NDIS for those who qualify. We provide support connected to SDA, helping daily life run smoothly for people whose plan includes it. The housing itself is arranged separately, and we are happy to help you understand how the support side works.

Your comfort at home matters, so who you live with is an important part of the conversation. We will talk through what would suit you, and we do our best to support living arrangements where people feel at ease together. Feeling safe and comfortable in your own home comes first.

We do our best to keep the same workers with you, because a familiar face matters even more in your own home. They will get to know your routines, your space and how you like things. On the rare day your regular worker cannot make it, whoever steps in will be briefed on how you like things done.

Your safety at home is our priority. Everyone who supports you is screened with a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and trained before they start, and we listen carefully if anything ever feels not right. If a concern comes up, we want to hear it, and we will act on it.
